COVID-19 Update from Tuff Shed

We are closely monitoring the developments nationally and locally. Our team regularly meets to discuss the safety and health of our employees and customers. We are regularly evaluating our policies and procedures during this period.

Tuff Shed Takes Increase Safety Measures

Several weeks ago, we've increased our cleaning and disinfecting efforts in every location — including a daily disinfecting wipe down of all frequently touched surfaces like countertops, tables, chairs, door handles, etc. Tuff Shed ensures that hand sanitizer is available in all our facilities. We take the temperature of our team members at the beginning of their shift – and employees with a fever are sent home. We ask all our employees who show symptoms or come into contact with known-infected individuals to stay home and follow the CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of the infection.

In most areas, our factories remain open for business, as we qualify for exceptions to local and state “shelter in place” orders. We also have begun to focus our delivery and installation efforts on essential building projects. In the past week we have delivered buildings in multiple cities to healthcare facilities that will use those buildings as part of their daily employee screenings or for storing supplies used for COVID-19 testing completed outside the hospital. We’re also being a resource for groups combatting homelessness. For example, the Mayor of Sacramento on March 19, 2020 asked us to produce as many homeless shelters as we can, as fast as we can, according to a city-approved design. If our factories are closed as non-essential businesses, we will be unable to meet this type of demand which is increasing daily.

While our showrooms are temporarily closed, our sales teams remain available to all customers, using virtual appointments and our state-of-the-art online building configurator. At tuffshed.com, customers can configure a building and finalize their transaction, or simply save their quote. It’s simple and can be completed in the comfort and safety of the customer’s home. Our sales teams remain at the ready to help customers over the phone or via email.

Professional on-site installation of our buildings is a key benefit to Tuff Shed customers. I want to reassure you that our installers are being trained on social distancing rules, they will never enter your homes during installation, and we are instructing them to carry hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. All paperwork, approvals, plans, transactions, payments, and signatures can all be done remotely/virtually via email links.
